Maison Kuroda

FOUNDED IN TOKYO

Maison Kuroda began in a small workshop in Tokyo's Asakusa district, where designer Aiko Kuroda grew up watching her grandfather stitch jika-tabi for the city's carpenters and gardeners. Shoes made to grip the ground, to move with the foot, to last.

Years later, after studying design in Paris, she came back to that workshop with one question: why had the oldest shoe in Japan become one of the most expensive in the world?

Maison Kuroda is her answer. The tabi as it was always meant to be: honest, quiet and made to be worn every day, at a fair price.

For women, men and everyone who prefers meaning over logos.

Maison Kuroda: where Tokyo craft meets modern design.
